Opera browser will soon launch a mobile version for the iPhone. Opera's spokesman, Thomas Ford said that Opera for the iPhone is six times faster than Safari, the browser is already embedded in the iPhone.
"I can not specify when the Opera for the iPhone that will be submitted to Apple, but the time was not longer," Ford said on the sidelines of the festival South By Southwest Interactive in Austin, Texas, Friday, March 19, 2010 as quoted by CNN page.
Until now, Opera has been available for smart mobile phone with the Blackberry platform, Windows Mobile, and Android. While Opera Mini is used for more than 50 million mobile phone owners used.
Apple itself has not responded to this statement of the Opera. A number of the suspect Apple will reject this application because it can threaten Safari. Apple always said it will not accept applications that are similar to congenital iPhone applications.
But Ford insisted that the development of Opera for the iPhone is not intended to put pressure on Apple. According to Ford, Opera and Safari is very different.
"Opera Mini is more faster to download the regular internet pages while Safari is designed to be more compatible with data processing, such as editing a Google document," said Ford.
